Telangana State Council of Higher Education has released a notification for Ed CET 2024. Candidates who are interested in applying for EdCET, which provides admission to the Bachelor of Education degree for 2 years, can now do so. This test serves as an entry for the 2-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) as a regular course in the academic year of 2024.
This opportunity is extended to individuals who have successfully completed a Degree in Oriental Language, enabling them to participate in EdCET for admissions to the B.Ed course.

EDCET Examination Syllabus
The questions in the examination will cover subjects and content from classes I to X of the Telangana State curriculum, emphasising reasoning and problem-solving skills.
Teaching Aptitude:
Aptitude questions will focus on understanding the teaching-learning process, classroom management, and mentoring, with special emphasis on the teacher-pupil relationship.
General English:
The examination will assess reading comprehension, spelling errors, vocabulary, phrase replacement, error detection, and word association.
General Knowledge:
Candidates should be prepared for questions related to current affairs (both India and International) and contemporary educational issues.
Computer Awareness:
The computer awareness section will test candidates on topics such as computer fundamentals, internet usage, memory, and networking.
The University is inviting online applications from eligible candidates for admission into the 2-year B.Ed course offered by state universities in Telangana, including their affiliated colleges.
Application Process for Eligible Candidates:
Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria must submit their applications only through the online mode. The application registration fee is Rs. 850/- (Rs. 450/- for SC/ST candidates). This fee can be paid at TS Online/AP Online/Mee-Seva/E-Seva Centers in Telangana State or Andhra Pradesh, or through the Payment Gateway.

Eligibility Criteria for Ed CET Candidates
Candidates must meet the following criteria for the qualifying examination:
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in disciplines such as B.A, B.Com, B.Sc, B.Sc (Home Science), BCA, BBM, B.A (Oriental Languages), BBA, or a Master’s Degree with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks.
- Alternatively, candidates with a Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology, securing at least 50% aggregate marks, or an equivalent qualification, are eligible.
- Reserved category candidates, including SC/ST/BC and Physically Challenged categories, should have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the qualifying examination.
- Candidates who are in the final year of their degree examination are also eligible to appear for TS Ed.CET.
- Note: According to Government Order (GO) MS No: 13 dated 27/5/2017, candidates holding degrees in MBBS, BSC (AG), BVSC, BHMT, B.Pharm, and other professional and job-oriented degree courses such as LLB are not eligible for admission into the B.Ed course.
- Note: Candidates holding a Master’s Degree without having pursued undergraduate studies are not eligible for admission.
